Boulder City is approximately 25 miles southeast of Las Vegas. Originally home to the workers who built Hoover Dam in the '30s, it is now home to about 15,000 and a herd of Bighorn sheep. The sheep come down from the mountain to graze in Hemenway Park just after sunrise.

Hoover Dam is just east of Boulder City.

We drove around the Nevada side of Lake Mead, stopping in the Redstone area, before continuing north to Valley of Fire State Park for a hike.

Nelson Ghost Town is south of Boulder City. They have quite the collection of, umm, junk, and were very nice about warning me of killer cactus. Just down the road is Eldorado Canyon, and a nice view of the Colorado River.

Back in Las Vegas we toured the Strip, and then returned to the air conditioning at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino for Photoshop World 2015.
Thunderstorms on the day I left Las Vegas made for interesting travel.
